Sales Director (Guangzhou) – Imported Food & Distribution

Join a prominent international food trading group as we accelerate our expansion across Mainland China. We are looking for a strategic, high-caliber Sales Director to lead our Guangzhou-based operations. This pivotal role focuses on scaling our imported food portfolio through expert management of distributor networks and modern trade channels.


The Opportunity

As a key leader reporting to senior management, you will be the architect of our sales growth in China. You will lead a high-performing team to capture market share in the fast-paced FMCG sector, ensuring our agency brands become household names across the region.

Core Responsibilities
  • Strategic Planning: Design and execute annual sales budgets and roadmaps with a heavy emphasis on modern trade and distributor efficiency.

  • Channel Mastery: Build powerhouse relationships with national/regional supermarket chains, hypermarkets, and major e-commerce platforms.

  • Network Expansion: Strategically appoint and oversee a robust network of regional distributors to optimize our route-to-market.

  • Team Leadership: Mentor and drive the sales force to hit aggressive revenue, margin, and collection targets.

  • Market Intelligence: Stay ahead of competitor moves and channel shifts to capitalize on emerging opportunities.

  • Cross-Functional Synergy: Partner with marketing and supply chain teams to ensure flawless product launches and trade promotions.

  • Risk Management: Oversight of inventory, credit, and commercial terms with all key partners.

What We Are Looking For

We need a seasoned professional with deep roots in the China food distribution landscape.

  • Proven Experience: 10+ years in FMCG/Food/Snacks (China market), including 5+ years in a senior leadership capacity.

  • Channel Expertise: A successful track record managing complex distributor networks and key accounts (CVS, Hypermarkets, Supermarkets).

  • Network: An existing, strong network of supermarket buyers and regional distributors is highly preferred.

  • Skills: Exceptional negotiation skills and the ability to lead diverse teams.

  • Logistics: Based in or relocating to Guangzhou, with a willingness for frequent domestic travel.

  • Languages: Fluency in Mandarin and English; Cantonese is an advantage.
