Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement public affairs strategies to promote organizational goals.
Pitch stories and secure coverage by building and maintaining relationships with reporters, editors, and media outlets.
Draft compelling press releases, media kits, op-eds, and other communication materials tailored for diverse audiences.
Coordinate high-profile events, including press conferences, town halls, and community outreach programs.
Maintain and expand a robust network of media contacts to ensure timely and accurate coverage.
Analyze public opinion trends and media coverage to inform strategic communication efforts.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Political Science, or a related field.
At least 5 years of experience in public affairs, public relations, or journalism, with a proven track record in reporter pitching and media relations.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience crafting pitches that secure media coverage.
Established relationships with media professionals and a demonstrated ability to pitch stories effectively.
Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple deadlines, and adapt to fast-paced environments.
Proficiency in social media platforms.
