Our client, a well-known international company, is now looking for Deskside Engineer join within their team.
Job Description L2 Deskside Engineer (2-3 years of experience)
Desktop Engineering Support SD Engineer (L2) is responsible for effectively using advanced skills to troubleshoot advanced hardware and software problems. Tasks include but are not limited to hardware troubleshooting and upgrades, offering a 'White Glove'/VIP service and support relating to sales, installation and configuring of applications and other software on the company issued desktop/laptop and mobile devices. In addition, the engineer is responsible for interfacing with Supplier L3 support engineering or Customer professional services to provide timely resolution.

Key Responsibilities
Infrastructure Deployment & Support
- Supports, owns, and addresses day to day IT requests and incidents for users in Geneva main office and other EMEA remote sites.
- Coordinates the setup and deployment of network kits, desktop systems, and AV solutions (As per SOP shared) across EMEA offices
- Works closely with Christie’s management to provide technical specifications and procurement recommendations for hardware upgrades.
- Supports Network setup, AV, sale setup & streaming infrastructure for offsite sales, with help and assistance from other onsite and offshore teams.
- Supports potential other future offsite sales in EMEA.
- Brightsign Boxes (SOP Based support only. Basic H&F)
- White Glove Support
- Update and maintain asset database for all supported sites
Server & Network Management (Hands and Eyes Support) under guidance of Wipro L2/L3 team
- Supports server migration/transition projects across EMEA location, ensuring minimal downtime and user disruption.
- Participates in Network projects such as Network kit commissioning/decommissioning efforts with support from other relevant teams.
- Conducts link redundancy tests to validate failover mechanisms and ensure uninterrupted connectivity for Geneva office.
Security & Compliance under guidance of Wipro L2/L3 team
- Collaborates with the security team to ensure desktops connected to Christie's network meet compliance standards for monitoring systems.
- Responds to security alerts and conducts virus scans upon request, demonstrating proactive risk mitigation.
Optimization
- Highlights any optimization opportunities to Christie’s IT management and take action as per agreement from Christie’s IT management.
- Engages in mobile platform optimization efforts, reviewing and approving cost-saving recommendations for Swisscom services.
Collaboration & Communication under guidance of Wipro L2/L3 team
- Acts as a key stakeholder in cross-functional projects, liaising with infrastructure managers, data centre teams, Network, infosec, and other Infrastructure towers.
- Provides timely updates and feedback to IT leadership and project teams, ensuring transparency and alignment on IT initiatives.
Vendor Management
- Management of Local Network Providers including but not limited to Swisscom, Canon.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong technical acumen in desktop deployment.
- Proficient in project coordination across geographically dispersed teams.
- Adept at troubleshooting, risk assessment, and compliance enforcement.
- Effective communicator with a collaborative mindset and attention to operational detail.
