We are seeking a high calibre Project Manager – Global Wealth Symposium for our HSBC Global Wealth team.

Job Description: Project Manager – Global Wealth Symposium (Wealth Global team)
Role Overview: The Project Manager will lead the end-to-end planning, execution, and delivery of the Global Wealth Symposium, supporting HSBC’s Wealth Academy Pillar 3: Wealth Excellence. This fixed-term assignment is based in Hong Kong and requires in-person collaboration with the Wealth Solutions Customer Channels and Commercialization (WSCCC) team and the Wealth Academy team. The Project Manager will drive cross-functional coordination, manage timelines and resources, and ensure a high-impact event for HSBC’s Relationship Managers and Wealth leaders.
Reporting Line: Reports to the WSCCC team
Location: Hong Kong (in-office, on-site presence required).
Travel requirement: The successful candidate will be expected to spend 5–7 days in Nansha, China prior to and during the event to support pre-event preparation and on-the-ground delivery (please consider personal/family commitments when applying).
Team Structure: Works collaboratively with the WSCCC team and other stakeholders. No direct reports.
Budget Responsibility: No budget management responsibilities.
Duration: Fixed-term project assignment. Extended hours and overtime support are expected, especially during key event phases.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership
- Develop and manage the project plan for the Global Wealth Symposium, including milestones, deliverables, and risk mitigation strategies.
- Lead cross-functional coordination to ensure seamless execution.
- Proactively identify and resolve project risks, issues, and dependencies.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in event delivery.
Stakeholder Management
- Engage with senior leadership, Relationship Managers, and Wealth leaders to gather requirements and align objectives.
- Facilitate regular updates and feedback loops with WSCCC and other key stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external partners, including vendors and sponsors.
Content & Program Development
- Coordinate with subject matter experts to curate thought leadership sessions, skill-building workshops, and wellbeing activities.
- Oversee the development of networking and co-creation opportunities, ensuring relevance and impact.
- Ensure all content aligns with HSBC’s values, DE&I (Diversity, Equity & Inclusion) principles, and strategic objectives.
Logistics & Operations
- Manage event logistics, including vendor relationships, senior management, and attendee communications.
- Ensure compliance with HSBC policies and standards.
- Oversee on-site event operations, including set-up, registration, and troubleshooting.
- Work closely with stakeholders to support on-site logistics and real-time problem solving during the event, ensuring issues are resolved quickly and delivery remains on track.
- Ensure all health, safety, and security protocols are followed.
Measurement & Reporting
- Define success metrics and track outcomes (e.g., engagement, collaboration, actionable insights, feedback).
- Prepare post-event reports and recommendations for future symposiums.
- Analyse feedback and data to drive continuous improvement.
Required Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in project management, preferably in large-scale events, conferences, or learning programs.
- Demonstrated ability to “jump in” and deliver results in fast-paced, ambiguous environments.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with experience influencing senior leaders.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver under tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with wealth management, leadership development, or financial services is a plus.
- Analytical mindset with experience in measuring outcomes and reporting.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) and virtual collaboration tools (e.g., Teams, SharePoint).
- Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Experience with event technology platforms (e.g., registration, polling, feedback tools) is an advantage.
- Willingness to work extended hours and provide overtime support as needed.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive, solution-oriented approach.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural, diverse team environment
Basic Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Immediate availability or short notice period preferred.
- Eligibility to work in Hong Kong.
