The Role
A well-established medical imaging centre in Hong Kong is looking for a qualified and patient-focused Ultrasound Radiographer to join its diagnostic imaging team.
The successful candidate will perform a broad range of ultrasound examinations, ensure high imaging quality and patient safety, and work closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals.
Candidates with previous hands-on ultrasound experience will be highly regarded. However, suitable fresh graduates may also be considered, with professional ultrasound training provided.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform a broad range of ultrasound examinations, including:
- General ultrasound
- Obstetric ultrasound
- Gynecological ultrasound
- Vascular ultrasound
- Small-parts ultrasound
- Conduct Doppler studies as required, including carotid, DVT, arterial and venous examinations.
- Ensure appropriate patient positioning and select suitable probes and imaging parameters to achieve optimal diagnostic image quality.
- Adjust gain, depth, focus and other ultrasound settings according to clinical requirements.
- Provide preliminary observations and imaging support to radiologists where appropriate.
- Work closely with radiologists to ensure the required diagnostic views and image quality are obtained.
- Explain procedures clearly to patients and ensure their comfort, dignity and privacy throughout examinations.
- Maintain high standards of patient care and safety during all ultrasound procedures.
- Perform routine checks and basic maintenance of ultrasound equipment, including:
- Daily equipment checks
- Probe cleaning and disinfection
- Basic calibration checks
- Reporting equipment faults or technical issues
- Accurately document examination information, findings and imaging records using PACS / RIS systems.
- Maintain appropriate clinical and examination documentation.
- Follow relevant infection control procedures, departmental protocols and Hong Kong healthcare regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Diagnostic Radiography, Medical Ultrasound or a related qualification recognised by the Hong Kong Radiographers Board.
- Valid registration with the Hong Kong Radiographers Board (Part 1 or Part 2) is required.
- Around 1–2 years of post-qualification hands-on ultrasound experience in a hospital, clinic or diagnostic imaging environment would be highly preferred.
- Fresh graduates with appropriate qualifications and registration are also welcome to apply. Professional ultrasound training will be provided.
- Practical experience in general, OB/GYN, vascular or small-parts ultrasound would be an advantage.
- Experience conducting Doppler studies would be highly regarded.
- Familiarity with ultrasound platforms such as GE, Philips, Canon or Siemens would be an advantage.
- Familiarity with PACS / RIS systems would be preferred.
- Strong command of English and Cantonese.
- Mandarin would be an advantage.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patient-focused, empathetic and able to communicate clearly with patients throughout examinations.
- Detail-minded with a strong commitment to imaging quality and patient safety.

Candidates with experience in private hospitals, specialist clinics, diagnostic imaging centres or other healthcare institutions are encouraged to apply.
