Key Responsibilities
Academic Intelligence & Scanning: Monitor, aggregate, and evaluate cutting-edge research outcomes (e.g., papers, open-source projects, published breakthroughs) in key technical domains, with a primary focus on Hong Kong universities. Deliver structured analysis and intelligence briefs to guide internal strategy and partnership evaluation.
Research Support & Event Facilitation: Conduct deep-dive literature reviews and technical landscape analyses to support high-priority R&D challenges. Draft briefing materials, technical notes, and executive summaries to facilitate dialogue between internal R&D teams and external academic leaders. Help organize academic workshops and technical exchanges to build early-stage pipeline opportunities.
Academic Outreach & Engagement: Identify, map, and establish connections with prominent researchers, professors, and promising early-career scholars across major Hong Kong universities. Maintain talent networks, streamline external university resources into internal business units, and drive initial engagement for industry-academia collaboration.
Role Requirements
Education & Expertise: Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Telecommunications, Electronic Engineering, or related STEM fields. Proven track record of academic rigor and hands-on research experience, with strong proficiency in synthesizing complex research papers (peer-reviewed publications are a strong plus).
Domain Knowledge: Deep familiarity with the Hong Kong higher education ecosystem, university governance structures, lab operations, and collaborative R&D frameworks. Strong network or familiarity with research labs and faculty in Hong Kong is highly preferred.
Communication Skills: Professional fluency in spoken and written English and Chinese (Mandarin/Cantonese) for technical and business discussions.
Core Competencies: Exceptional analytical thinking, acute attention to detail, and robust organizational skills to manage concurrent streams in research analysis, scholar engagement, and partnership coordination.
