Product Manager — Battery Products | Southeast Asia Factory Experience（Up to 43K)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Product Manager to lead product management and development activities for electronic products, with a strong preference for candidates who have experience in battery products or related energy solutions.

The role will be responsible for product enhancement, new product introduction, portfolio management, market analysis, and business-development support. The successful candidate will work closely with factories in Malaysia and Vietnam, as well as sales, marketing, engineering, and overseas business partners.

This position requires a combination of technical understanding, commercial awareness, project-management capability, and strong English communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead product management activities, including product enhancement programmes, new product introduction, product positioning, and portfolio management.
2. Manage assigned products throughout the product lifecycle, from market assessment and product planning through development, launch, optimisation, and portfolio review.
3. Plan and execute product-development projects based on customer requirements, market opportunities, and business priorities.
4. Identify new business opportunities within selected market segments and support the development of appropriate product solutions.
5. Monitor and evaluate market trends, target applications, customer requirements, industry developments, and competitor activities.
6. Analyse market intelligence and translate findings into product strategies, product roadmaps, and marketing plans that support sales targets.
7. Work directly with manufacturing facilities in Malaysia and Vietnam to coordinate product development, engineering changes, samples, testing, production readiness, and delivery schedules.
8. Act as a key communication point between factories, product teams, sales and marketing teams, overseas business partners, and other relevant stakeholders.
9. Coordinate with engineering, quality, sourcing, supply chain, production, and commercial teams to ensure projects are delivered according to agreed specifications, timelines, quality standards, and business requirements.
10. Gather and clarify product and technical requirements from customers, sales teams, and business partners.
11. Prepare product specifications, project updates, market analyses, product presentations, and other relevant documentation.
12. Support the commercial team with product information, technical clarification, market positioning, customer presentations, and business-development activities.
13. Track project milestones, identify potential risks or delays, and coordinate corrective actions with the relevant teams.
14. Review product performance, customer feedback, cost competitiveness, and market response, and recommend improvements where appropriate.
15. Maintain effective communication throughout the product-development and business-development process.
16. Provide regular updates to the Vice President of Primary Product Management on project status, product performance, market developments, and key business opportunities.

Requirements

1. Bachelor’s degree or above in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical discipline.
2. At least 5 years of relevant experience in product management, product development, product marketing, or a related function.
3. Solid experience working with electronic or electrical products is required.
4. Experience in battery products, rechargeable batteries, power solutions, energy-storage products, or related technologies is highly preferred.
5. Experience coordinating directly with overseas factories, particularly manufacturing operations in Southeast Asia, is strongly preferred.
6. Candidates should be comfortable working closely with factories in Malaysia and Vietnam on product-development and production-related matters.
7. Good understanding of product-development processes, including product requirements, sample development, testing, engineering coordination, production preparation, and product launch.
8. Strong technical understanding of electronic products, components, product specifications, and manufacturing processes.
9. Strong analytical thinking, commercial awareness, and problem-solving capability.
10. Ability to analyse market trends, customer needs, product performance, and competitor activities.
11. Strong project-management and cross-functional coordination skills.
12. Good communication, presentation, and stakeholder-management skills.
13. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint is essential.
14. Good command of written and spoken English, with the ability to communicate effectively with overseas factories and international business partners.
15. Able to work independently, manage multiple projects, and perform effectively within a fast-paced environment.
16. Willing to travel occasionally to Malaysia, Vietnam, and other locations based on business needs.

Preferred Qualifications

• Product-management experience in rechargeable batteries, battery packs, power solutions, energy storage, or related electronic products.
• Experience managing new product introduction or product-enhancement projects.
• Direct experience working with factories in Malaysia, Vietnam, or other Southeast Asian locations.
• Familiarity with OEM, ODM, or manufacturing-based business models.
• Experience supporting international sales teams or overseas customers.
• Ability to discuss product specifications and technical requirements with factories, engineers, customers, and business partners.
• Strong understanding of the relationship between product development, manufacturing, market positioning, and commercial performance.
