Our client is a global leader in information and communications technology (ICT) infrastructure, telecommunications equipment, and smart devices. Operating on a massive global scale, they innovate at the intersection of consumer electronics, enterprise cloud data centers, and advanced energy solutions. To support their expanding next-generation hardware and infrastructure portfolios, they are seeking a highly technical and strategic Procurement Manager to oversee global sourcing for critical electrical power components.
The Procurement Manager (Electrical Power Components) will be responsible for end-to-end strategic sourcing, supplier lifecycle management, and cost optimization across three critical technical categories: Switched Power (including SMPS and power modules), Low Power Electronics (microcontrollers, sensors, IoT power management ICs), and High Power Electrical Systems (industrial power distribution, heavy-duty modules, and thermal/power management infrastructure).
This role bridges the gap between complex engineering requirements and global supply chain execution, ensuring supply resilience, cost competitiveness, and stringent quality compliance.
Technical Portfolio Management: Develop and execute comprehensive global sourcing strategies for Switched-Mode Power Supplies (SMPS), low-power semiconductors/ICs, and high-voltage/high-current power modules.
Supplier Discovery & Selection: Identify, audit, and onboard tier-1 and tier-2 global suppliers capable of meeting high-volume manufacturing demands and stringent corporate standards.
NPI Support: Partner closely with R&D and Hardware Engineering teams during New Product Introduction (NPI) phases to ensure Early Supplier Involvement (ESI), optimizing for Design-for-Cost (DFC) and Design-for-Availability.
Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) Optimization: Lead high-value commercial negotiations covering piece-part pricing, tooling costs, volume rebates, and payment terms to drive annual cost-reduction targets.
Risk Mitigation & Contracting: Structure, negotiate, and execute Master Purchase Agreements (MPAs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) to guarantee long-term capacity, business continuity, and IP protection.
Dual-Sourcing & De-risking: Actively map component supply chains to eliminate single-source bottlenecks, particularly for critical low-power microcontrollers and high-power components.
Geopolitical & Market Intelligence: Monitor global semiconductor and raw material market trends (e.g., copper, silicon wafers) to proactively mitigate shortages, allocation constraints, or tariff impacts.
Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs): Establish and track supplier Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) focusing on quality, on-time delivery (OTD), and technological alignment.
Continuous Improvement: Partner with Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE) to resolve engineering bottlenecks, yield issues, or compliance failures at the manufacturing level.
Bachelor’s Degree: Required in Electrical Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related technical discipline. An engineering background combined with a business degree is highly preferred.
Experience: Minimum of 8 years of strategic procurement or category management experience, specifically sourcing electronic components, power supplies, or semiconductor products within a high-tech mass manufacturing or ICT infrastructure environment.
Deep Domain Knowledge: Strong technical familiarity with electrical power architectures, including an understanding of efficiency ratings, thermal management components, and semiconductor lifecycles.
Global Ecosystem Familiarity: Established network and working relationships with major global semiconductor foundries, power supply manufacturers, and distributors.
Negotiation & Influence: Proven track record of successfully negotiating multi-million dollar contracts with major global technology suppliers.
Cross-functional Collaboration: Ability to speak the "language of engineering" to challenge technical requirements while maintaining strong commercial alignment with business units.
Language Skills: Excellent command of English. Fluency in Mandarin is highly advantageous due to frequent collaboration with global manufacturing hubs and regional supply chain teams.
