Onsite with HSBC - Project Manager- Finance (12 Months Contract, up to 90k)

 We’re currently seeking an experienced professional to join the HSBC Finance on the Cloud (FotC) programme team, which is responsible to implement an improved control framework through the creation of streamlined processes, removal of manual intervention and implementation of automated controls.  


Key deliverables:

  • The FotC Controls Project Manager will manage an end-end plan for definition, documentation and delivery of the target control framework for the FotC solution in the HBAP region, to meet core FotC deliverables as well as incremental improvements to meet enhanced Finance control standards
  • The role holder will work as part of the Finance on the Cloud programme team (Finance Change and Cloud Business Leads), Finance Chief Control Office and HOST to identify the key BAU risks and ensure appropriate controls are defined, documented and implemented
  • The role holder will need to manage a complex plan with a range of activities across multiple workstreams, sites and systems
  • The programme will impact on multiple areas within Finance and the Global Businesses, requiring strong stakeholder management, communication and expectation management, with a focus on programme governance, risk and issue management, status reporting and appropriate escalation
  • The FotC Controls Project Manager will also play a key part on ensuring smooth tracking and delivery of each system release delivery, ensuring appropriate track of all controls related requirements and understanding of deliveries in the pipeline
  • Inform all senior forums including regional ones of relevant risks in each wave delivery and provide a consistent view of RAG status
  • The role holder will be part of the FotC Controls Global management team and contribute to the strategic delivery path
  • The role holder will report to the Regional FotC Programme Director and functionally to the Global FotC Controls Programme Manager


 Principal requirements:

  • Project management skills in a complex regulatory environment, with strong risk, issue and dependency management skills
  • Understanding of a Finance control environment, and familiarity with HSBC processes preferred
  • Financial Services Project experience across both internal reporting and regulatory requirements, including experience of Finance reporting systems and processes
  • Experience of working with audit, regulatory affairs and compliance functions, in a project context
  • Experience of mobilising project activity, including establishing new workstreams and delivery processes
  • Experience in change management, driven by IT systems implementation, across a large organisation
  • Track record of successful delivery in a matrix management context
  • Experience of working in a large, global banking organisation
  • An understanding of Finance reporting data, systems delivery lifecycles and delivery methodologies
  • Ability to structure problems and identify solution options
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Visio, Powerpoint, Project)
