Onsite with HSBC - Operations Business Analyst (12m Contract, up to 35k/month)

Role Purpose:

  • To support the growth and development of the OTC Clearing business across the HSBC Asia Pac businesses and Support the existing ETD Core processes. The position will have day to day responsibilities for the margining activities for both House and Client Cleared businesses based on activities covering various Asia balance sheets.

Role Context:

  • The role holder will support HBAP, HBEU and HSI House and Client Clearing Operations under the supervision of team head.
  • The OTC Clearing team is a new business activity but is required under market regulations that have been introduced across the globe since the collapse of several major international banks and the credit crisis in 2008. In reducing the Bank’s overall credit risk and providing a Client Clearing service this role enhances the capacity of Global Markets to take in more treasury business.
  • The role holder must establish good relationship with counterparties and internal parties (front office, treasury finance, credit risk management, compliance and Finance) in resolving issues relating to OTC Clearing.

Requirements:

  • A degree holder, preferably in a business or finance discipline
  • General banking experience at a major bank
  • General knowledge of treasury products and documentation standards
  • Strong analytical, mathematics and problem solving skills
  • Able to work independently and meet tight deadlines
  • Good written and spoken English
  • Proficient in PC applications, including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of bond settlement process/ isin / sub custodian instructions
  • Bonds of different countries and specific nuances
  • Understanding the failed messages and taking corrective action
