We’re currently seeking an experienced professional to join the HSBC COO/CAO team.


Key Deliverables:

  • Risk and Compliance is a Second Line of Defense (LOD) function, responsible for reviewing and challenging the activities of the Group’s businesses (also referred to as “the First LOD”) to ensure that they effectively manage as “Risk Owners” the risks inherent in or arising from the conduct of their activities and for which they are responsible. The Second LOD consists of 'Risk Stewards' who are independent of the commercial risk-taking activities undertaken by the First LOD. The Risk and Compliance function is a Risk Steward for a number of financial and non-financial risks in accordance with HSBC Group’s risk framework.

  • The Regional Business Manager role is part of Risk and Compliance CAO, Function, which is responsible for provision of shared services to enable effective operations, including Financials, Resourcing, and related Management Information & Reporting. Business managers will act as a bridge with Finance, Procurement and DBS and local Risk and Compliance sub-functional heads on business management related matters.

The role is responsible for:

  • Support the implementation of a consistent and effective approach to business management across the functional areas;
  • Support the Risk and Compliance management in financial planning and tracking, AOP, forecasting, resourcing at Regional level;
  • Collaborate with local Global Functions and Lines of Businesses relevant matters (e.g. recharges, sharing of best practices, vendor oversight) to drive timely and effective service delivery;
  • Support offshoring initiatives in line with Global strategic direction;
  • Assist in streamlining activities for governance forums, and aligned with the Group’s Ways of Working initiatives;
  • Support special projects from Finacial Management perspectives in line with Global Risk and Compliance initiatives and strategic priorities/programmes
  • Support the benefit tracking process and related reporting requirements for transformation programs.
  • Support Risk and Compliance in People, Learning and Communication and provide general business support
  • Support the People Governance/Dashboard reporting and workforce planning including Orgainsiation Design governance and remediation. 



  • University graduate preferably with a degree in Business Management, Accounting or Finance.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication abilities to effectively work with other colleagues and stakeholders
  • Effective written and spoken communication skills in English
  • Project Management and a strong relationship management with a focus on financial and budget requirements.
  • Ability to distil complex and varied data into information; good process analysis and problem solving skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to ensure that information is captured in a timely manner.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Good financial management ability
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and a flexible approach to working hours and responsibilities
  • Ability to build relationships by communicating, influencing and negotiating effectively within Risk and Compliance, finance, human resources counterparts
