Onsite with HSBC - BA, Equity Derivatives Structuring (7 Months Contract)

 We're currently seeking an experienced professional to join the HSBC Equities Derivatives Structuring team in Hong Kong

 Key deliverables:

  • Co-ordinates the execution of transactions between trading/sales/marketing and internal control functions (including: drafting term sheets, presentations and approval papers for structures, basic pricing of structures, attendance of client meetings with marketing staff for technical support etc.)
  • Aims to develop an understanding of relevant market fundamentals/drivers and will learn to apply these when assessing the economic value/trading principles behind certain structures and "trade ideas"
  • Assists in driving strategy for both sales and trading desks
  • Follows pricing and technical developments in relevant financial markets and can articulate a house (or alternative) view on these markets
  • Live Pricing of Structured Equity Products for Clients
  • Assessing clients' needs and creating customized solutions, with the help of Sales
  • Idea generation based on market conditions
  • Secondary market pricing (Add On and Unwinds)
  • Preparing pitch-books to push products on proprietary indices
  • Working with Traders and Quants to develop and improve the functionality and scope of existing pricing/back-testing infrastructure (Python and VBA)
  • Reporting analytics for business insights and support 

Management of risk, operational Effectiveness & Control:

  • Manage the processes, infrastructure and resources needed to deliver agreed team plans and targets, identifying and implementing improvements and collaborating with colleagues to maximise end to end integration, effectiveness and efficiency
  • Maintain a robust and efficient control environment to ensure good operational, financial and project management and compliance with HSBC policy and procedures, together with early identification and effective resolution or escalation of issues that arise
  • Lead the implementation and oversight of policy and governance frameworks, procedures, practices and standards to ensure quality, effective risk management and regulatory compliance
  • Responsible for managing and mitigating operational risks in their day to day operations.
  • Ensures risk policies and governance frameworks are appropriately implemented in their part of the business
  • Communicates changes in policy and governance and reinforces risk processes in the way their teamwork
  • Promotes the use of risk management processes and ideas to enable their team to manage risk ethically across regions and business areas and enable their teams to do business safely in accordance with corporate sustainability policies
  • Adhere to internal controls, by adherence to all relevant procedures, keeping appropriate records and, where appropriate, by the timely implementation of internal and external audit points, including issues raised by external regulators
  • Demonstrate compliance with all relevant internal and external rules, regulations and procedures
