The Role
A well-established medical imaging centre in Hong Kong is looking for an experienced and patient-focused MRI Radiographer to join its expanding diagnostic imaging team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing high-quality MRI examinations, ensuring patient safety, maintaining imaging standards, and working closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals.
This role is suitable for a qualified Radiographer with solid hands-on MRI experience who is confident working in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform MRI examinations using 1.5T / 3T MRI systems in accordance with established clinical protocols.
- Conduct comprehensive MRI safety screening, including checking contraindications, implants and other potential risks.
- Support patients with claustrophobia, anxiety or mobility concerns and ensure their comfort throughout the examination.
- Position patients accurately and optimise scan parameters to achieve high-quality diagnostic images.
- Perform routine QA / QC checks on MRI equipment and report technical issues or faults promptly.
- Work closely with radiologists to ensure appropriate imaging quality and support protocol optimisation where required.
- Maintain accurate patient and examination records using PACS / RIS systems.
- Provide clear instructions to patients before and during examinations.
- Follow relevant patient safety, infection control, departmental and Hong Kong regulatory requirements.
- Maintain professional standards in patient care, clinical documentation and imaging procedures.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent qualification recognised by the Hong Kong Radiographers Board.
- Valid registration with the Hong Kong Radiographers Board (Part 1 or Part 2) is required.
- Minimum 2 years of post-qualification hands-on MRI experience, ideally gained in a hospital, clinic or diagnostic imaging centre.
- Practical experience in MRI patient positioning, safety screening and scan optimisation.
- Good knowledge of MRI safety requirements and clinical procedures.
- Strong command of English and Cantonese.
- Mandarin would be an advantage.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patient-focused, detail-minded and able to work effectively as part of a clinical team.
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates with the following experience will be highly regarded:
- Advanced MRI scanning experience in areas such as:
- Neuro imaging
- Musculoskeletal imaging
- Cardiac MRI
- Other specialised MRI examinations
- Experience gained in a private hospital, diagnostic imaging centre or sizable healthcare organisation.
- Familiarity with healthcare quality assurance or accreditation standards.
- Experience working with PACS / RIS and digital imaging workflows.
