The bank is currently looking out for high caliber Credit Risk Analytics Manager to join their team
Role purpose –
The Assistant Credit Risk Analytics Manager is responsible for supporting the Regional Head of Wholesale Analytics in the development and validation of wholesale Credit models, and any related analytics support in Asia Pacific.
In addition to the regional responsibilities, the job holder should also ensure global consistency in the development, implementation, and monitoring of wholesale credit methodology, policies and systems.
The role holder is also expected to provide both consultation and support on other risk analytics such as (but not limited to) Stress Testing, IFRS9, Economic Capital and Climate Risk across key customer groups to build shareholder value and profitability and to protect employees, assets and reputation of the HSBC Group via:
- Improved measurement of risk-related capital resources;
- Close alignment between the Risk and Business/Support functions in execution of the role;
- Alignment of the regional Analytics to the Global Analytics via a close and collaborative on-going relationship with Group Risk and the Global Head Global Risk Analytics.
Principal Activities –
- Impact on the Business / Function Support/Lead analyses, development and coordination with Customer and Product Groups, Wholesale Credit Risk, other Regional Analytics teams and regulators on the review and re-development of Wholesale credit models and other credit risk-related topics.
- Support/Manage the development and monitoring of risk policies, processes and tools that facilitate risk-basedbusiness management. Support/Management of research, review, formulation and revision of wholesale credit policies and guidelines from a modelling perspective.
Customers / Stakeholders
- Support the interaction with Customer and Product groups to ensure understanding of credit risk models, policy and decision making / behaviour to achieve a relevant objective.
- Support/Be involved in the interaction with regulators and industry bodies on risk rating system matters.
- Support evaluation of new or existing business initiatives/propositions and reviews of related credit proposals.
- Support/Manage monitoring the implementation progress of internal audit recommendations.
Major Challenges –
- Require to meet a tight regulatory deadline
- Require a strong knowledge of different business environments and major products.
- Require a reasonable understanding of the Basel and relevant regulatory capital rules.
- Require hands on experience in any programming languages
- Need to have good understanding of the Group Standards.
- Broad role encompassing all customer groups / business lines.
- Demanding role – working in an environment of significant ambiguity, and with pressure to provide expertise / decision making / guidance across multiple businesses.
- Demand to meet regulatory requirements, provide analytic reports and presentations often within short timescales.
Qualifications
- Degree holder or above in Finance, Mathematics, Risk Management, Statistics or a related field.
Experience
- Min 2 to 5 years of working experience.
- Have a good understanding of credit (PD/EAD/LGD) modelling, within the wholesale banking environment
- Experienced in banking industry, including experience in Risk and in a business line (preferably corporate).
- Prefer to have a hands-on experience in stress testing and Basel modelling and validation
- Prefer to have experience in Basel and HKMA regulatory capital rules
Skills
- Able to work in a dynamic and multinational culture and cope with high pressure
- Proven writing and analytical skills
- Quantitatively capable
- Hands-on experience in programming language such as (but not limited to) SAS, Python, Matlab or R
- Hands-on experience in working with end-to-end (from development to deployment) analytics and modelling delivery tech stack such as GCP, VS Code, Github and dashboard tools (or equivalent)
- Hands-on experience working with utilizing Generative AI to automate and standardise routine analytical and documentation tasks, improving turnaround time, consistency, and stakeholder responsiveness
- Hands on experience or strong interest in modelling including (but not limited to) both traditional and machine learning techniques
- Be a confident communicator with excellent soft people skills and management skills
- Ability to build effective relationships and liaise effectively with key business areas and management at all levels of the organisation
- Have a strong desire to embrace and drive change with strong influencing ability.
