Our client – Global financial company, is now looking for Data Centre Manager within their team.


Job Duties:         

  • Operate a 7x24 Data Centre as a centralized focal point for all IT incident detection, initialization, triage the escalation and resolution especially during break-fix and disaster.
  • Extremely close management of Incidents, Problem tickets and Change Controls in a complex data center environment to reduce risk and utilize safe times for repair and change.
  • Maintain, enforce and regularly review procedures and processes in associate with data centre operations, preventive maintenance, disaster recovery and crisis management with consideration on the evolving technology landscape (e.g., Cloud based backup solution, cross-site availability) and service requirements.
  • Improve operational processes and documentation, ensure Corporate Policies and Standards are being followed.
  • Responsible for support and streamline the process and mechanism to the IT monitoring tools and IT operations automation tools for effective monitoring by Enterprise System Management, and batch/backup job execution by Application Processing Management.
  • Manage all facilities operations, planning, maintenance, documentation and DC Operations in the mission critical infrastructure.
  • Manage and conduct regular/adhoc maintenance activities, system patches, disaster recovery drills and crisis management drills to ensure planned processes and procedures are effective.
  • Maintain the service level of service contracts and vendors are appropriate for the DC’s facilities operations and customer’s objectives.
  • Review work processed and improve on work statements and MOPs.
  • Responsible to asset tagging and the data center inventory management.
  • Responding to emergency situations such as fire, flood, power failure, BCP triggering.
  • Own the supplier relationship and ensure the ongoing management of performance, quality, cost, contractual commitments.
  • Ensure high availability of the 7x24 data centre and operational services while balancing cost consideration and uncertainty over future demand.
  • Design and implement sourcing strategy on IT operation services.

 

Education / Qualification:

  • A recognized university degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related disciplines with minimum 7 years' relevant experience.
  • Certified in ITIL, PMP, BCP, COBIT, Scrum, DevOps is preferred - PSP, CPP, LEED, ITIL, CCNA, MCSE, UNIX, PMP, RHCE, PMI.
  • Holder of Grade A Electrical Work Certificate is a plus.

 

Skills / Knowledge:

  • In-depth understanding of the current technology landscape (hosting, network, systems, storage, others), industry trends and emerging technology.
  • Strong knowledge in Critical Electrical and Mechanical equipment in Data Centers such as UPS, STS, HVAC, CRAH/CRAC units, PDUs, BMS and Fire Systems.
  • Sound Knowledge of IT service management, data centre management, vendor management, contract management, business continuity management.
  • Technical knowledge on IT services monitoring tools such as Datadog, New Relic, SCOM, Azure Monitoring, SolarWinds, Windows, VMware, Hyper-V platforms, storage, database, appliance backup, network & security, virtualization and cloud computing technologies (e.g., Azure, Ali) preferred.
  • Ability to conduct presentations and meetings.
  • Strong aptitude and leadership skills.

 

Working Experience:

  • At least 7 years' relevant working experience in one or more of the below area(s):
  • IT operations of Data Centre.
  • Infrastructure support.
  • Project and vendor management.
  • Experience in service management especially on service transition and service operation.
  • Experience in data centre design, operations, SysOps practices and IT outsourcing management preferred.
  • Experience working in a complex infrastructure environment (scale, multi-site, different technologies, continuous availability of services).
