The Role

A well-established design practice in Hong Kong is looking for a talented Architectural Designer / Interior Designer to join its growing team.

The successful candidate will work closely with Directors and fellow designers across different project stages, from concept development and visualisation through material sourcing, client coordination and site visits.

This role is suitable for a creative and motivated designer who enjoys working in a collaborative studio environment and wants to gain broader exposure across both the creative and delivery sides of architecture / interior design projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with the design team and Directors on a variety of architecture and interior design projects.
• Assist in developing creative design concepts and translating ideas into clear design solutions.
• Produce and develop:
• Concept sketches
• CAD drawings
• Layout plans
• 3D models
• Renderings and visual presentations
• Design presentation materials
• Conduct site surveys, take measurements and accurately document existing site conditions.
• Attend site visits and assist in monitoring design implementation and project progress.
• Research and source suitable materials, furniture, products, fixtures and finishes based on project requirements and design direction.
• Liaise with suppliers, contractors, consultants and clients on design, material and project coordination matters.
• Participate in client meetings and design coordination sessions, contributing ideas and assisting with presentations.
• Support the preparation of design proposals, sample boards, material presentations and other client-facing materials.
• Assist with workshop and supplier visits to review samples, mock-ups, fabrication and production quality where required.
• Participate in project-related photoshoots, events and other studio activities.
• Work closely with senior team members to resolve design and technical issues throughout the project.
• Help maintain an organised, collaborative and professional studio environment.

Job Requirements

• Approximately 2–6 years of relevant experience in architecture, interior design, interior architecture or a related field.
• Degree or diploma in Architecture, Interior Design, Interior Architecture or a related discipline would be preferred.
• A strong portfolio demonstrating individual, professional and/or academic design work.
• Strong design sense with the ability to develop ideas through sketches, drawings, 3D models and visual presentations.
• Proficiency in:
• AutoCAD
• SketchUp
• Enscape
• Adobe Photoshop
• Adobe Illustrator
• Adobe InDesign
• Strong communication and presentation skills.
• Fluent English is required.
• Cantonese and/or Mandarin would be an advantage.
• Positive, outgoing and collaborative personality with a strong team spirit.
• Confident, responsible and committed to delivering high-quality design work.
• Good organisational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
• Able to work effectively in a fast-paced project environment and perform under pressure.
• Flexible and willing to work overtime when required by project deadlines or site schedules.
