Job Description

International Wealth and Personal Banking (IWPB) helps deliver on HSBC’s purpose of opening up a world of opportunity by providing our customers with borderless banking and world-class wealth management through best-in-class, mobile-first capabilities and exceptional people.

Wealth and Personal Banking has four key business areas responsible for efficiently bringing the best of HSBC to our clients through a broad and relevant suite of wealth and retail banking capabilities: Asset Management, Global Private Banking & Wealth, HSBC Life, Retail Banking & Strategy and COO & Digital Transformation.

Investment Managed Solution (IMS) is a delivery team of Delivery Managers, Product Owners and Analysts that leads the execution of IWPB platform initiatives to provide best in class wealth management products & customer experiences.

Should you join the IMS delivery team under IWPB Transformation you will work closely with our delivery leads, delivery managers, product owners, business analysts, design leads collaboratively with technology and operations teams. You will be working on platform transformation initiatives to strengthen our offerings.

We are currently seeking a high caliber professional to join our team as Business Analyst.

 

Functioning as a Business Analyst, the candidate will be responsible for working collaboratively with WS Investment Managed Solution and delivery partners to take initiatives from initiation through to final implementation. Primary responsibilities include:

  • Responsible for capturing, analysing and documenting business requirements, creation of epics and writing user stories and managing product backlog. 
  • Support with the translation of business requirements and designs into more detailed functional requirement. 
  • Create analysis of customer journeys and product functionality 
  • Support the business owner to prioritise product backlog by providing insight based on business knowledge, investigations, and analysis. 
  • Responsible for investigating operational issues, problems and new opportunities. Provide initial high-level options for solution design, factoring feasibility (commercial, business, technical, delivery, etc.) and business / change impact. 
  • Manage the delivery of complex customer experience enhancement initiatives from design through to release.  
  • Work directly with various stakeholders across multiple geographies, such as Product Owners, Business Analysts, Process Designers, IT, and Digital teams to produce accurate delivery estimates and manage the transition from analysis through to design and delivery. 
  • Ensure risks and issues are identified and managed closely and remove project delivery blockers. 
  • Drive all stakeholders to deliver on time and to the required quality standards.  
  • Contribute to post implementation reviews to demonstrate success and progress of projects.  
  • Develop various project documentation to stakeholders (e.g., Project Plan, Status Report, Implementation checkpoints) 
  • Supporting the delivery production line (development, testing and implementation) ensuring digital deliverables meet business requirements and are fit for purpose to release to customers. 

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Discretionary Portfolio Management, Fund, Private Equity and Alternative Investment and related trade, post trade and product service lifecycle flows
  • Proven ability to work across regions whilst maintaining a global perspective. 
  • Sound judgmental skills to identify and resolve problems. 
  • Ability to adopt a growth mindset and proactively identify and bring about change opportunities. 
  • Great sense of ownership and servicing mindset to ensure efficient and effective change process. 
  • University graduate in related disciplines or other relevant qualifications 
  • Effective communication, inter-personal and negotiating skills. 
  • Excellent decision making and problem-solving ability.
