Principal responsibilities
Prepare special quotations and draft clear, accurate responses to customer enquiries relating to inforce policies (e.g., benefit values, policy changes, bespoke illustrations), in line with agreed service standards and controls.
Support enquiries and special quotations for Jade Universal Life policies, including analysis and explanation of the crediting rate mechanism (e.g., credited interest, policy charges, account value movements), and prepare bespoke illustrations where required.
Develop, enhance, and maintain calculation tools used for special quotations and bespoke policy benefit illustrations/statement preparation, ensuring robustness, version control, and clear documentation.
Assist to update calculation tools for the dividend/bonus review exercise, including implementing revised assumptions/rates, performing testing and reconciliations, and supporting sign-off activities.
Assist in VHIS medical product portfolio review activities, including pricing parameters in quotation/illustration tools, performing reasonableness checks, and helping prepare customer-facing values/impacts for statement or enquiry responses (in line with agreed governance).
Perform inforce experience monitoring (lapse and claims), including data checks, trend analysis, and investigation of variances; summarise insights to support tool updates, dividend/bonus review inputs, and operational readiness for customer enquiries.
Key deliverables / measures of success
Quotations and enquiry responses delivered on time with high accuracy and clear audit trail.
Calculation tools are well-controlled (documented, tested, peer-reviewed) and fit for purpose.
Smooth implementation of dividend/bonus and repricing updates with evidence of testing and stakeholder alignment.
Regular lapse/claims monitoring with clear, actionable insights and timely escalation of emerging trends.
Skills and experience (required)
Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or a related quantitative discipline.
Strong numerical and analytical skills with high attention to detail.
Strong Excel skills; experience building or maintaining calculation tools/models.
Ability to explain technical calculations in plain language for non-actuarial stakeholders (e.g., Customer Service, Operations).
Strong ownership mindset: able to manage deadlines, maintain controls, and escalate issues early.
Progress toward actuarial qualification (e.g., IFoA/SOA or local equivalent).
Basic knowledge of participating products and dividend/bonus concepts, universal life crediting, and/or medical repricing (where relevant).
Desirable (nice to have)
Experience supporting inforce policy administration, customer enquiries, benefit illustrations, or statement preparation.
VBA/SQL/Python/R experience and familiarity with version control or structured change management.
