Job Overview

 

The Deskside Support Lead will manage and support a team of four engineers (two deskside). This role combines leadership responsibilities with active technical involvement. The Lead will participate from the project transition stage through steady-state operations, ensuring consistent service delivery, incident resolution, and operational excellence.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coordinate, and support a small technical team providing end-user and network support services.
  • Act as the primary contact and onsite escalation point for deskside and network support activities.
  • Manage and distribute daily workloads among engineers while remaining actively involved in hands-on support tasks.
  • Oversee incident and request to ensure adherence to SLA and quality standards.
  • Participate in transition planning, including knowledge transfer, documentation review, and shadow support activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement in support processes and performance.
  • Collaborate with the Service Delivery Manager to track service metrics, report performance, and plan resource allocation.
  • Maintain asset, configuration, and access management accuracy across supported systems.
  • Ensure compliance with security policies, IT guidelines, and customer requirements.

 

Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or relevant field.
  • 3 years+ IT support experience
  • Strong technical background in Windows, Office 365, endpoint management, and hardware troubleshooting.
  • Familiarity with basic network support (LAN/WAN, routers, switches, Wi-Fi).
  • Experience in transition or service onboarding projects preferred.
  • ITIL Foundation certification or equivalent experience in ITSM processes an advantage.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and team coordination skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to evolving business requirements.
